Challenge

In Dubai, there is no shortage of children’s play venues, activity centers and entertainment facilities. None of these, however encourage the same level of play-based learning the way OliOli does. OliOli isn’t an arcade center. Nor is it a jungle gym or a playground. And while it is a carefully curated, meticulously put together collection of activities and experiences, it is a completely new concept to the region. Peoples’ perceptions and expectations of play areas in Dubai are defined by those facilities that already exist. As a new concept in a well-established sector, OliOli challenges what parents have come to expect from the places they are used to taking their kids.

Strategy

Working closely with the owners, we set about developing a tone of voice for the OliOli website – one that embraced the creative ethos of the space while acting as an educational platform – one that told parents about the unique nature, benefits and experiences that OliOli was offering. Avoiding the typical, overly excitable tonality often found within the category and adopting simple, down-to-earth language resulted in a voice that genuinely cuts through the clutter, carving a niche for a brand that values creativity, wonder and play-based learning above all else.

Signage and Wayfinding

Signage within OliOli is treated as a key component of the overall brand, adding to the visitor experience. Material choices and finishes are all carefully considered in relation to the rest of the space, while installations – both outside and inside the venue – add richness and depth to the brand’s core purpose – inviting guests to experience the joy of discovery.

Website Creation

To launch the brand, we developed a website that is informative and educational – inviting guests to explore the different exhibits in a digital space. Clean layout coupled with clear messaging echos the OliOli interior design philosophy while a photographic and video shoot provided compelling visual content for the site.
